StitcherFiveStitcherFive

StitcherFive is the heart of the CloudTV H5 Platform. It executes and renders HTML5 applications and generates MPEG-2 and H.264 compliant streams on a per-client basis.

Thin Client

CloudTV’s classic “thin client” solution enables the delivery of rich, uniform advanced TV experiences, even to the millions of first-generation digital set-top boxes that are in the field today. The lightweight client is downloaded to, or pre-installed on, any digital STB, CI Plus device or CE device, and is used simply to send keyclicks upstream. The thin-client solution overcomes the resource limitations in cable’s legacy set-top box fleet by shifting all of the processing into the network. In addition, Cloud TV’s thin-client solution enables the deployment of lightweight, energy-efficient set-top boxes – or even CI Plus conditional access modules – in the future. In every case, devices are able to receive the same rich CloudTV content, providing viewers with a uniform experience on every screen in the network.

Thin_ClientSome of Thin Clients also receive and manage the compliant MPEG2 or H.264 bitstream from the StitcherFive. The CloudTV H5 platform provides different thin clients for each deployed network.

  • UDP Thin Client for MSO/Cable networks
  • TCP Thin Client for Managed IP and IPTV networks
  • OTT Thin Client for Virtual MSO’s, Unmanaged IP and Over-The-Top networks

Hybrid Client

Hybrid_ClientIn addition to its “thin client” capabilities that provide rich experiences on any device, ActiveVideo Networks also offers a “hybrid client” version of each Thin Client for CloudTV customers with more robust set-top boxes and CE devices. By combining CloudTV’s superior network processing with device-based functionality such as advanced graphics rendering, service providers can offer viewers the best of both worlds, while at the same time conserving bandwidth within the network.

UDC Server

The UDC Server collects pre-defined and custom usage data for any user interaction within any application which can then be used for off-line data analysis and reporting purposes.
