Michiel is the pivotal figure who ensures that execution in ActiveVideo’s “factory” meets the company’s compelling vision of Software Defined Television. His team of world-class software developers brings the CloudTV™ platform to life with a continuous build pipeline of products that are tightly integrated with customer needs. He is expert at aligning development processes and engineering teams to create and assemble innovative software components that collectively virtualize set-top box functionality and deliver scalable, stable, fully featured user experiences to any device.
Named to his current role in 2014, Michiel has been a member of the ActiveVideo team since the 2009 acquisition of Avinity Systems. With Avinity he worked closely with customers to spearhead the rapid iteration of cloud-based platforms that could provide rich, consistent user experiences across heterogeneous connected device footprints. Previously, Michiel had teamed with Avinity founder and current ActiveVideo CTO Ronald Brockmann to develop innovative Wi-Fi technology for Intersil (NASDAQ: ISIL); that business line later was acquired by Conexant Systems (NASDAQ: CNXT). Michiel earned an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Twente in Enschede, The Netherlands.
